Nauti Mermaid, RIP

The crew was safely ashore, but the boat didn't survive the 150 mph winds.

The photo is from a CNN article that includes some video of the boat.

The self-organized group that has provided the most effective aid to Vieques - including the satellite phone calling stations featured in the CNN video, is ViequesLove. They are an all-volunteer organization of current and former residents as well as friends of Vieques. They have zero overhead and all donated funds go to aid the community.

  1. I am so pleased to hear that your family is safe, however, terribly sad to hear that their dream is going to be on hold for some time. My husband and I watched every video they had and enjoyed every step they went through to make their dream come true. We have been searching for updates from them since the storm was heading towards them. We live in Florida but got lucky! Mother Nature has her own plans but Jennifer and her husband are two of the most determined young people I have seen and I know they will make their life again. Thank you so much for sharing this news with us and we will keep them all in our thoughts❤️

  2. I’m glad to hear they family survived the storm. That is the most important part. It’s sad to see all the work and effort that was put into the boat and business be turned upside down in one instance. Catamarans don’t have a heavy keel and carry much of their weight above the water line making it difficult to survive a category 5 storm.

I wish you guys the best of luck and a speedy recovery.

    Con mucho Amor,

Thank God you guys are alright, i have been following you since your first video and was worried about you because the last video I saw from your cat was the one from CNN keel up in Vieques, yo soy un jibaro de Bayamon viviendo en Ft.
